Veneers
Dental Veneers are wafer-thin, custom-made shells of tooth-coloured materials designed to cover the front surface of teeth to improve aesthetics. These shells are bonded to the front of the teeth and can improve the colour, shape, size, or length of natural teeth.
Veneers can be made from porcelain or from resin composite materials. Porcelain veneers resist stains better than resin veneers and better mimic the light reflecting properties of natural teeth. Resin veneers are thinner and require removal of less of the tooth surface before placement. You will need to discuss the best choice of veneer material for you with your dentist.

What Types of Problems Do Dental Veneers Fix?
Veneers are routinely used to restore:
- Teeth that are discoloured — either because of root canal treatment; stains from tetracycline or other drugs, excessive fluoride or other causes; or the presence of large resin fillings that have discoloured the tooth.
- Teeth that are worn down.
- Teeth that are chipped or broken.
- Teeth that are misaligned, uneven, or irregularly shaped.
- Teeth with irregular or large spacing between them
Did you know?
Porcelain veneers require little to no drilling and can dramatically improve you smile in just a few appointments.

Why choose veneers?
- When orthodontics is not an option, veneers may be the answer.
- Veneers stay securely attached to your teeth.
- They are unlikely to affect the nerves within a tooth or weaken it.
- Veneers can be used to close gaps between teeth.
Will it hurt?
The process is similar to having a filling, so there should be very little discomfort.
